MOUNT CLEMENS, MI. (THECOUNT) — Marcel Johnson, a TikTok and Instagram influencer and father of five, has died at 32 following a 15-month battle with stomach cancer. Johnson died Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, at 4:45 p.m., his wife, Taylor Johnson, announced in an emotional tribute.

Johnson, who amassed more than 800,000 followers on TikTok and over 200,000 followers on Instagram, was diagnosed with stage IV stomach cancer in August 2025 after seeking medical attention for stomach pain. He subsequently documented his diagnosis, treatments and personal struggles on social media, building a large following among people who followed his fight.

Taylor shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram Tuesday, describing her husband’s final hours and the pain of losing the father of their five children. She said Marcel was surrounded by family, including his younger brother, Dedric.

“I lost a whole entire half of me,” Taylor wrote, recalling how exhausted and uncomfortable her husband had become during his final days. She said Marcel told her and Dedric that he was ready to go on the morning of his death, but continued fighting throughout the day, giving the family a little more time together.

During treatment, Johnson underwent 25 rounds of chemotherapy. In September 2026, he announced that he was stopping chemotherapy because he had become too weak to continue. He also disclosed that hospice care had been contacting him as his treatment options narrowed.

In October, Johnson traveled to City of Hope Medical Center in California in search of additional medical guidance. He returned home approximately 10 days later, telling followers he had received answers he needed. His final social media post, shared Oct. 25, showed him smiling at home beside one of his children.

Johnson and Taylor were raising five sons together. Their family life and Marcel’s cancer journey became a central part of the content he shared online, allowing followers to witness both the challenges of his illness and his determination to spend time with his wife and children.

The couple also operated Lil Daddy’s Cheesecakes, a family-owned bakery in downtown Mount Clemens. They opened the business in 2024, building it while raising their children.

A GoFundMe campaign originally established to help cover Johnson’s medical expenses has since been redirected to support Taylor and their five sons following his death. The fundraiser’s organizers said donations will help the family through the difficult period ahead.

Johnson’s death comes approximately 15 months after his initial diagnosis. His family has not announced additional details regarding funeral or memorial arrangements.

Johnson and his family were based in Mount Clemens, in Macomb County, north of Detroit in southeastern Michigan. The precise location where he died has not been publicly disclosed. The map below identifies the family’s community, not a confirmed death location.
