CLARKE COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — Ariana Zarse, of Austin, Texas, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a hit-and-run vehicle Sunday in Clarke County, Georgia.
Zarse, 20, was struck and killed by a vehicle in Athens early Sunday.
According to reports, Zarse, a University of Georgia Pi Beta Phi sorority member, was on-foot in the area of West Broad Street near Foundry Street in Athens, when she was struck by a passing Honda Accord. The vehicle then fled the scene around midnight Sunday.
Zarse was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
Anyone with possible information on the deadly incident should contact police at 911.
