HARVEY COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Levi Minkevitch, of Peabody, Kansas, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday ATV crash in Harvey County.
Minkevitch, 30, a Newton Police Officer, was killed in an ATV crash Wednesday afternoon near Walton.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Minkevitch was attempting to jump a ditch while operating an ATV on North Harvest Hill Road near East Dutch Avenue in Walton, when the vehicle wrecked and rolled over around 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Minkevitch, a Corporal/SWAT Operator, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
