CLAY COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — John Slack of Indianapolis, Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday wrong-way crash on Interstate 70.
Slack, 72, was killed in a wrong-way head-on crash involving a semi-tractor on Saturday morning in Clay County.
According to reports, Slack was operating a BMW on I-70 in Clay County, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 6 a.m. Saturday morning. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with an 18-wheeler operated by a 21-year-old.
Slack was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash of blunt force trauma injuries.
The truck driver and his passenger were uninjured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
