JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Taylor Ronald Akin of Hueytown, Alabama, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Monday night crash in Jefferson County.
Akin, 16, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Bessemer on Monday night.
According to reports, Akin was traveling as a passenger in a Chevrolet Camaro on 15th Street Road near CCC Rd, when the vehicle came into contact with a pickup truck around 8 p.m. Monday. The force of the crash caused the Camaro to rollover multiple times.
The male driver of the Camaro was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
Akin was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
