LAS VEGAS, NV. (THECOUNT) — Las Vegas Metro Police say, Aldo Gonzalez was dressed in a head-to-toe hazmat suit, when he walked into a Las Vegas Walmart store Sunday night and began spraying an unknown clear liquid substance in aisles and on shelves.
Gonzalez, 23, of Las Vegas, and an underage friend whose name was not made public because he is a minor, were arrested Tuesday accused of committing the unthinkable act, police are calling a “social media stunt.”
Las Vegas police say, officers responded to the Walmart, located near South Rainbow Boulevard and the 215 Beltway, on reports of a suspicious person spraying the substance, they say, some customers eventually came into contact with.
Officials said a voluntary evacuation was conducted after the unknown suspect left the store without further incident.
By the time police arrived, the unknown suspect had departed the store. Witnesses say the man’s license plate was taken down and provided to authorities.
The store is located at, 7200 Arroyo Crossing Pkwy in Las Vegas, NV.
A real Hazmat team was called in and are currently testing the unknown substance.
No one was injured during the incident and the store remains closed for several hours.
