OH Man Baird McCarty ID’d As Pedestrian In Saturday Night Fatal Columbus I-70 Hit-And-Run

COLUMBUS, OH. (THECOUNT) — Ohio man, Baird McCarty has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a hit-and-run vehicle Saturday night in Columbus, according to Sunday reports.

McCarty, 53, was killed after being struck by a vehicle in west Columbus on Saturday night.

Columbus police say they responded to reports of a man down around 8:45 p.m. Saturday night.

When they arrived they discovered a pedestrian down and injured on I-70 eastbound at Hilliard Rome Road.

Investigators say two vehicles became disabled and stopped in the median of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70. McCarty exited his vehicle when he was struck by another vehicle.

That vehicle then fled the scene.

McCarty’s last known address was 3724 Kimberly West Dr., in Columbus, OH.

McCarty was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt for injuries.

Authorities are looking for a white car, possibly a Chevrolet Malibu or similar body style. The car will have fresh front damage, reports 10TV.
