Buckcherry Tour Bus Involved In Friday Fatal I-26 Crash In South Carolina

SPARTANBURG, SC. (THECOUNT) — Buckcherry’s tour bus was involved in a fatal multi-vehicle crash early Friday morning on Interstate 26 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, with the band and its touring crew escaping injury, according to a statement released by the rock group.

Spartanburg County is located in northwestern South Carolina, along the Interstate 26 corridor between Greenville and the Charlotte, North Carolina, metropolitan area.

The band said the crash occurred at approximately 2 a.m. Friday when its tour bus was traveling on I-26 and became involved in a collision involving multiple vehicles.

According to Buckcherry’s statement, the fatal collision occurred ahead of the band’s bus. Authorities confirmed that one person was killed in the crash, although the victim’s identity was not released in the band’s statement.

All members of Buckcherry and the touring crew were reported safe and unharmed following the incident.

The band expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of the person who died in the collision and thanked fans and others who contacted the group after learning about the crash.

Buckcherry said the incident would not prevent the band from performing its scheduled Saturday show in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The crash drew an immediate response from fans on social media, with many expressing relief that the band and crew were not injured while also acknowledging the loss of life.

Buckcherry formed in 1995 and broke through nationally with its self-titled debut album in 1999. The record produced the band’s best-known hit, “Lit Up,” and helped establish Buckcherry as a prominent hard-rock act.

The group has continued touring and recording throughout its career, making the Friday morning crash another incident involving a touring rock act traveling between performances.

Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances of the fatal collision in the information provided by the band.
