(COLUMBIA, MO. (THECOUNT) — Jason Ian Frazier has been identified as the victim in a fatal house fire in Columbia, Missouri early Thursday morning.
Officials say they discovered Frazier, 38, unconscious in a duplex bedroom around 3 a.m. after responding to the area of 3000 Balboa Lane in Columbia on reports of a smoke odor.
Upon arrival, first responders found heavy smoke but determined the fire had extinguished itself by the time they had arrived on scene.
Unattended cooking was ruled as a probable cause in the blaze.
Frazier was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was the only person in the dwelling at the time of the incident.
