OH Body Found In Orange Identified As Missing West Chester PA Professor Thomas Short Jr

CLEVELAND, OH. (THECOUNT) — The body of Thomas Short Jr, a missing associate professor of mathematics at West Chester, Pennsylvania, has been located by Cleveland, Ohio, Metroparks Rangers.

Short, 55, who was visiting Chagrin Falls for Thanksgiving, was reported missing by his family after he didn’t show up for dinner.

A body found on Dec. 2, at the Cleveland Metroparks at Acacia Reservation, 26899 Cedar Road, has been positively identified as Short.

The Cleveland Metroparks Rangers said they found Short’s body at around 3:30 p.m. near a creek.

Rangers said the body showed no signs of trauma.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the body that was found on Dec. 2 in the jurisdiction of the Cleveland Metroparks at Acacia Reservation, 26899 Cedar Road, as that of 55-year-old Thomas Short Jr. source

Family members said Short’s vehicle, suitcase and phone at the hotel where he was registered in Orange Village, but he never picked up the key to his room.

The medical examiner has not yet released a cause of death.

Orange is a village in Cuyahoga County and an affluent eastern suburb of the Greater Cleveland area in the US state of Ohio. The population was 3,323 at the 2010 census, according to Wikipedia.
