DAVIDSON COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Eric Christopher Dickerson, of Thomasville, North Carolina, has been identified by the Highway Patrol as the bicyclist struck and killed on Denton Road.
Dickerson, 38, was riding a bicycle when he collided with a vehicle near Mary Road just outside of Thomasville. The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene.
Troopers believe the collision happened sometime between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
At about 7:16 a.m., North Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a reported fatal hit and run on Denton Road. source
The vehicle may have been a 2004 GMC Sierra truck.
Troopers are working to identify a suspect vehicle using evidence collected on the scene.
Anyone with information on the fatal incident should contact police at 911.
