TALLAHASSEE, FL. (THECOUNT) — Eric Thomas was identified as the person dead in a shooting in Tallahassee Friday night, said the Tallahassee Police Department.
Thomas, 26, was found suffering from gunshot wounds on Friday at about 9:34 p.m., after TPD responded to a shooting in the 2000 block of Hillsborough Street.
Officers arrived on scene after receiving calls of shots fired. Upon arrival, they found Thomas suffering from a gunshot wound.
TPD says Leon County Emergency Medical Services and the Tallahassee Fire Department also responded to perform lifesaving procedures, but the victim died from their injuries. The Tallahassee Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit and Forensic Technician responded to process the scene and the investigation is ongoing. source
The case has been assigned to TPD’s Violent Crimes Unit.
