Rekia Kinnebrew has been identified as the Knoxville woman found shot dead in a Cherry Street residence.
Police responded near 5th Avenue and N. Cherry Street around 3 a.m. Sunday morning on reports of gunshots heard in the area.
Upon arrival to the area, investigators discovered a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside a home located at 401 S Cherry St, Knoxville, TN.
Kinnebrew died from her injuries and was pronounced dead after 5 p.m.
According to the preliminary investigation, several people had been involved in an earlier alternation at another location. Police say the argument escalated when the suspect allegedly fired multiple times at the victims, hitting one female victim. The victim died from her injuries just after 5 p.m. Sunday evening. source
The investigation into the fatal incident is ongoing at this time and police say they are following several leads.
According to Facebook, Kinnebrew was employed as a teller at First Tennessee Bank.
