North Carolina woman Cheryl Meggs has been identified as the A 56-year-old woman killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday night in Hartsville, South Carolina, according to the Darlington County coroner.
Reports say, Meggs, 56, of North Carolina, was operating a 2016 Honda two-door southbound when she attempted to make a left onto W Bobo Newsom Hwy from New Market Road at around 7 p.m. The Honda was stuck by a 1999 GMC SUV traveling north.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was wearing a seat belt, reports noted.
The driver of the GMC SUV was also wearing a seat belt and taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. Collins said no charges are expected, as the at-fault driver was the victim. source
The Darlington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating.
