Shawn Garrett, of West Valley City, Utah, has been named as the man killed while operating a motorcycle on Bangerter Highway Saturday night.
Garrett, who turned 30 on April 13, was traveling in the area of 3600 West and 5400 South around 9:20 p.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Det. Ken Hansen said Garrett was traveling southbound and went to make a turn to travel eastbound on 5400 South. Witnesses indicated that Garrett was traveling too fast to make the turn, lost control and crashed. source
There were no other vehicles involved.
According to his Facebook page, Garrett was a Process Technician at Hexcel Corporation. He attended Went to Orem High School, according to social media.
