UPDATE: Arrested in the shooting was 25-year-old Ray Rubin of Opelousas. Rubin was booked and processed on the offenses of 2nd Degree Murder, Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and Home Invasion. (Original story:) Louisiana man, Jermain Aaron has been named as the victim in a fatal shooting Thursday morning, say the Opelousas Police Department.
Authorities say they are investigating the deadly shooting which occurred March 15. Upon arrival, police found one person dead. Another unidentified person was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
According to police, the shooting occurred around 5:00 am on the corner of Statesman and Adams Street in Opelousas. The Police department says that one victim, identified as 32-year-old Jermain Aaron, was killed in the shooting. Another person was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. source
Police say there is no suspect information at his time.
