UT Couple Miranda Schachinger & Issac Renfro ID’d As Victims In Friday Midvale Murder-Suicide

SALT LAKE COUNTY, UT. (THECOUNT) — Miranda Schachinger has been identified as the victim in a Friday murder-suicide in Salt Lake County.

Schachinger, 26, was found dead Friday in an apparent murder-suicide in Midvale, Utah.

Issac Renfro, also 26, has been identified as the deceased shooter.

According to officials, SWAT teams responded to the Candlestick Lane Apartments, located at, 80 E 7800 S in Midvale, in what turned into a 3-hour standoff at a Midvale home.

At some point, police entered the home and found both Schachinger and Renfro dead of apparent gunshot injuries.

It was later revealed that Renfro sent text and picture messages to his friends admitting that he had killed Schachinger.

Police believe, Renfro shot Schachinger before turning the gun on himself.

The SWAT team sent utilized a robot to check movements inside the apartment before entering.

No motive in the killings was provided as of Saturday morning.

NE Pair Gabrielle Ramirez Beau Dasher ID’d As Victims In Sunday Sarpy County Double-Fatal Crash

SARPY COUNTY, NE. (THECOUNT) — Plattsmouth, Nebraska pair, Gabrielle Ramirez and Beau Dasher, have been identified as the victims in a double-fatal crash in Sarpy County on Sunday, according to Monday reports.

Dasher, 20 and Ramirez, 19, were both killed in a two-vehicle crash near Liberty, Nebraska, around 1 p.m. Sunday.

According to reports, the crash involved a Chevy Silverado pickup and a Chrysler 200 traveling on Highway 75 near US-75.

Dasher and Ramirez were killed while traveling in the Chrysler.

Both vehicles had three occupants.

The Chrysler driver, identified as Joshua Martinez, 27, of Plattsmouth, was seriously injured, reports 1011.

In the Silverado Pickup, Christopher Peters, 20, the driver, and Bailey Clark, 21, both of Council Bluffs were seriously injured. A 1-year-old child was in a child restraint seat in the vehicle’s back seat and was not hurt.

All of the injured were transported to area hospitals.

The crash remains under investigation.

According to social media, Ramirez was originally from Salt Lake City. Dasher attended Plattsmouth High School.

Body Of UT Man Brandon Gary Johnson Recovered Saturday In Gunlock Waterway

GUNLOCK, UT. (THECOUNT) — Brandon Gary Johnson has been identified as the Utah man killed after jumping off a waterfall while visiting Gunlock State Park Friday. Search crews recovered Johnson’s body from the water Saturday morning.

Johnson, 36, reportedly jumped off a waterfall and failed to resurface while swimming at Gunlock State Park on Friday afternoon, according to officials.

According to the press release, emergency crews first responded to the park after receiving reports that Johnson was jumping from the top of the waterfalls and into the water but failing to resurface, reports KSL.

According to the press release, it appears that Johnson died from the impact of the fall; but the incident is still under investigation.

UT Man Corey Eggleston ID’d As Suspect Arrested In Saturday Flaming Gorge Fatal Boating Accident

MANILA, UT. (THECOUNT) — Corey Dale Eggleston has been identified as the suspect arrested on DUI and homicide causing death following a drunk boating accident at Flaming Gorge Reservoir Saturday afternoon.

Eggleston, 25, was transported into Uintah County Jail where he remains in custody after being found with a blood alcohol content level over the legal limit.

According to the probable cause statement, a Daggett County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a possible drowning call at Flaming Gorge Reservoir at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a boat being pulled into the boat ramp with one deceased man aboard.

The dead man drowned after from falling from a boat that was performing a turn.

Eggleston later admitted to the deputy that he was drinking and operating a boat when he made a left turn, and all three occupants in the boat fell into the water.

The other victim spoke with the deputy, who confirmed that Eggleston was operating the boat and made three people fall into the water without any life vests, reports KUTV.

The deceased man was not identified by officials.

UT Human Remains Found May Be Missing American Fork Woman Jerika Binks

AMERICAN FORK, UT. (THECOUNT) — Human remains found by a climber in American Fork Canyon Sunday may be those of missing woman, Jerika Binks, according to reports.

Binks, who was 24 at the time she went missing more that a year ago, may have been located by a man climbing in a remote ravine in American Fork Canyon on Sunday, according to a press release from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office. The climber then contacted deputies with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputies responded to the area, near the Swinging Bridge picnic site, which the press release says contained extremely rugged and steep terrain. The human remains were located on the north side of the canyon, about 850 feet above the floor of the canyon. Personal items were located with the remains that are consistent with what Binks had on her at the time of her disappearance, the press release said, reports HeraldExtra

Binks has been missing since she left her home near American Fork to go running on February 18, 2018.

The press release says that there is no evidence at this stage of the investigation to suggest foul play was involved in the death. The remains have been taken to the Medical Examiner’s office in Taylorsville, where positive identification will be made.

Judd Miller from Garland, Utah, has been identified as the victim of a Friday drowning in Hryum Reservoir.

Cache County Sheriff’s officials said, Miller, 18, died after cliff jumping in a popular area of the reservoir called the “Big Toe.”

Provo Police said the body of Salgado was located but further details on a cause of death were not made available.

Dmitri Bullard has been identified as the man shot and killed during a Gresham police-involved shooting Friday morning.

Officials say Bullard, 24, was threatening officers with a hatchet when he was fatally shot. Police said Bullard had recently relocated to the area from Farmington, Utah.

Just before 12 a.m. Friday, officers responded to the report of a man prowling vehicles in southeast Gresham. Officers located the suspect vehicle near Southwest Butler Road and Southeast Regner Road. When they attempted to stop the vehicle, Bullard fled westbound on SW Butler. Megan Ann Hicks has been named as the young mother killed in a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning, according to the Clark County Coroner.

Officials confirmed Hicks, 23, of North Las Vegas, died on Thursday. Hicks’ exact cause of death was not released.

Nevada Highway Patrol responded to reports of a rollover crash on the U.S. 95 and the Rainbow Boulevard curve on March 7. According to Trooper Jason Buratczuk, one woman was pronounced dead at the scene and a second woman was transported to a hospital with critical injuries. Continue reading
