Athletes competing in the Rio Olympics are seeing red after the diving pool turned a murky shade of green. Now the water polo pool has also turned the uninviting shade of yuck.

Officials say the pools are safe to swim and the greenish water is simply algae. Come again?

Speaking with the Associated Press after yesterday’s algae problem, Olympic spokesperson Mario Andrada says that the puke-green hue was caused by a “proliferation of algae” primarily because of “heat and a lack of wind.” Continue reading →

NBC gave Katinka Hosszu‘s Husband credit for her world record swim and now folks on social media are crying foul. On Saturday night, Hungary’s Hosszu shattered the world record in the 400-meter individual medley.

Hosszu’s relationship with her trainer, (who is also her husband,) Shane Tusup, have been described by Hosszu’s former coach, Dave Salo, this way; “I think the biggest issue with her is her husband,” he said. “I think you have to look at her motivation. Is it fear or confidence that is driving her?”

Grammy Winning Musician Contracts ZIKA VIRUS Cancels Drake Fest Performance

Beenie Man, who won a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album, was forced to cancel his co-headlining performance at Drake’s OVO Festival in Toronto Saturday night after contracting the Zika virus.

Beenie was scheduled to perform alongside Machel Montano at the popular festival but was denied entry into Canada a few days before the event over “immigration issues” related to his contraction of the virus.
