BAUXITE, AR. (THECOUNT) — Gunner Frazier, a senior and member of the Bauxite High School baseball team, has died, prompting an outpouring of grief from the school community in Saline County, Arkansas, southwest of Little Rock.
Bauxite High School announced Frazier’s death Sunday, September 20, saying the student died Saturday, September 19. The school did not disclose the circumstances surrounding his death.

In a statement shared with the school community, officials said Frazier’s loss was being deeply felt by his family, friends, teammates, classmates, teachers and others who knew him.
“Our thoughts, love, and deepest sympathies are with Gunner’s family, friends, teammates, classmates, teachers, and all who knew and loved him during this incredibly difficult time,” the school said.
Frazier was classified as a senior and played for the school’s baseball team. His involvement in the program made the loss particularly significant for teammates and members of the athletic community.
The school announced that members of its counseling team and support staff will be available on campus Tuesday morning to provide assistance to students, faculty and staff members.
“Members of our counseling team and support staff will be available on campus Tuesday morning for any students, faculty, or staff who need comfort, support, or simply a safe space to grieve,” officials said. “Please do not hesitate to reach out.”
The school encouraged anyone struggling with the loss to seek support and emphasized the importance of the community standing together during the difficult days ahead.
“As we mourn together, we ask our school community to surround one another with kindness, compassion, and strength in the days ahead,” the statement continued.
The announcement did not provide additional details about Frazier’s death, and no information concerning an investigation or official cause of death was included in the school’s statement.
Bauxite High School closed its message with a tribute reflecting the connection between Frazier and the school community.

The statement was directed toward Frazier’s family, friends, classmates, teammates, teachers and all others affected by his death. The school’s planned counseling services are intended to give members of the community an opportunity to grieve and receive support.
