MIDDLETON, ID. (THECOUNT) — Alyssa Louise Anderson, 41, of Middleton, Idaho, has been arrested and charged after a fatal vehicle-versus-bicycle crash Friday night near Middleton High School that killed a 14-year-old student in Canyon County, Idaho, according to police.
Anderson faces charges of vehicular manslaughter, aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an injury accident, Middleton Police said. She was booked into the Canyon County Jail following her arrest.

The bicyclist, a 14-year-old Middleton High School student, was transported by Life Flight to St. Luke’s Boise for treatment after the crash. Police said Saturday morning that the teenager had tragically succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Police have not publicly released the student’s name.
Middleton Police said the crash occurred Friday night near Middleton High School. Investigators with the Middleton Police Department and Idaho State Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The charges against Anderson allege that her conduct involved vehicular manslaughter, aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an injury accident. The allegations remain subject to the criminal court process.
Police did not immediately release additional details about the circumstances of the crash, including how the vehicle and bicycle collided or how far the driver allegedly traveled before authorities became involved.
Following the teenager’s death, Middleton Police asked members of the community to keep the victim’s family in their thoughts and prayers.
“We ask our community to keep this young man’s family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate an unimaginable loss,” police said.
A prayer gathering for the student’s family and community was organized Saturday morning at the Middleton High School Auditorium.
Middleton is located in Canyon County in southwestern Idaho, about 20 miles northwest of Boise. The city is part of the Boise metropolitan area and sits west of Idaho’s capital along the Interstate 84 corridor.
