(THECOUNT) — Telegram briefly disappeared from Apple’s App Store in multiple countries Monday, just hours after the messaging platform’s official X account posted a viral message referencing the long-awaited release of the Jeffrey Epstein files. The app later reappeared without explanation.
Users in the United States and other regions reported that Telegram no longer appeared in App Store search results, while direct links to the application returned an error indicating the page was unavailable. Existing users who already had Telegram installed appeared largely unaffected, but new downloads through Apple’s App Store were temporarily unavailable.

Before the unexplained outage, Telegram’s official X account published a post that quickly gained widespread attention, writing: “crazy that we’re gonna get GTA 6 before the full Epstein files.” The post generated hundreds of thousands of views and thousands of interactions as users debated the ongoing controversy surrounding the government’s handling of records connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Although the timing fueled speculation on social media, there is currently no evidence that the X post was connected to Telegram’s temporary disappearance from Apple’s App Store. Neither Apple nor Telegram has publicly explained why the application was briefly unavailable.
Telegram later confirmed the app had been restored, saying it should once again be available for users to download. Apple has not issued a statement regarding the incident.
