FL Man Jadarius West Charged In Friday Port St. John Hit-And-Run, Home Invasion, Double Stabbing

PORT ST. JOHN, FL. (THECOUNT)Jadarius West, 31, is facing multiple felony charges after deputies say a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 95 Friday, July 31, 2026, escalated into a violent home invasion in Port St. John, Florida, in which two residents were stabbed.

Port St. John is an unincorporated community in Brevard County along Florida’s Space Coast, located approximately 40 miles east of Orlando. The incident began on Interstate 95 before ending at a nearby residence in the community.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were responding to reports of a hit-and-run crash on I-95 when they received another emergency call reporting that a vehicle had crashed into the front yard of a nearby home. Deputies and troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the residence and discovered several people outside, including one victim suffering from a stab wound to the neck.

Investigators identified the suspect as West. Authorities said the victims were inside the home when they heard a loud crash outside. West allegedly ran onto the home’s back porch before entering through a sliding glass door.

Deputies said West demanded the victims’ vehicle keys before grabbing a kitchen knife from inside the residence. During the confrontation, investigators said he slashed one victim on the hand, causing the person to fall. A second victim was then cut across the neck while attempting to intervene. A third occupant was not injured but reportedly fell while trying to escape the residence.

Authorities said all three occupants managed to flee the home while West remained inside. Law enforcement officers surrounded the residence and established a perimeter. Investigators said West later attempted to escape by jumping through a window, where deputies immediately took him into custody without further incident.

The two injured victims were treated for their wounds. Authorities have not released updates on their conditions or publicly identified any of the victims.

West was booked into the Brevard County Jail and is being held without bond. According to the sheriff’s office, he faces charges including armed burglary of an occupied dwelling, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery on a person over the age of 65, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault on a person over 65, criminal mischief, leaving the scene of a crash, and driving while license suspended with knowledge.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
