(THECOUNT)Adam Erdly, 50, of Montgomery, Pennsylvania, died Saturday after a motorcycle crash involving a Harley-Davidson and a Mazda CX-30 at the intersection of Routes 44 and 405 in Delaware Township, Northumberland County, according to Pennsylvania State Police and the Montour County Coroner’s Office. The Mazda was driven by Arman Shirazi, 47, of Nanticoke, who sustained suspected minor injuries in the collision.

Delaware Township is located in Northumberland County in central Pennsylvania, near the Susquehanna River region and communities including Milton and Danville. The crash occurred along a rural roadway intersection in an area served by Pennsylvania State Police and local emergency responders.

Investigators said Shirazi was driving a 2024 Mazda CX-30 eastbound on Route 44 when the vehicle entered the intersection without clearance.

Police said the motorcycle struck the Mazda’s tire during the collision. The impact caused Erdly to suffer injuries requiring emergency medical transport from the scene.

Erdly was flown by a UPMC STAT MedEvac helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for treatment. According to the Montour County Coroner’s Office, Erdly was pronounced dead at the medical facility at 3:07 p.m. Saturday.

Shirazi was also transported to Geisinger Medical Center for evaluation of suspected injuries. An unnamed passenger in the Mazda was treated at the scene for suspected minor injuries, according to information released by police.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing. Authorities have not released additional details regarding possible contributing factors or whether any citations will be issued.

Emergency crews responding to the scene included Pennsylvania State Police, firefighters from the Warrior Run area and Milton, and medical personnel involved in the air transport operation.

The intersection of Routes 44 and 405 remained the focus of the investigation as authorities worked to document the circumstances surrounding the collision and collect information related to the vehicles involved.
