IN Couple Jordan & Sierra Walters ID’d As Victims In Friday Dearborn County Fatal Crash Involving Children

DEARBORN COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Jordan Walters, 33, and Sierra Walters, 33, of Milan, Indiana, and a 46-year-old Moores Hill man were involved in a head-on crash Friday evening in Dearborn County, located in southeastern Indiana near the Ohio border and the Cincinnati metropolitan area, that claimed the lives of Jordan and Sierra Walters and injured the couple’s two young children.

According to the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team, the collision occurred at approximately 6 p.m. on State Road 350.

Investigators said a Ford F-150 operated by the Moores Hill driver was traveling westbound when it crossed the center line for reasons that remain under investigation.

Authorities said the pickup truck collided head-on with an eastbound GMC Terrain driven by Jordan Walters.

Sierra Walters and the couple’s two young children were passengers in the GMC.

Investigators determined the collision occurred in the eastbound lane.

The Ford F-150 came to rest in the roadway following the impact, while the GMC Terrain left the south side of the highway and traveled down an embankment.

Jordan Walters and Sierra Walters sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene by the Dearborn County Coroner’s Office.

The couple’s two children, who were seated in the rear of the vehicle, were injured and transported to area hospitals for treatment.

The driver of the Ford F-150 suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital in the Cincinnati area.

Dearborn County is situated in southeastern Indiana along the Ohio state line and forms part of the Greater Cincinnati region. State Road 350 serves as a rural transportation corridor connecting communities throughout the county.

Milan, where the Walters family resided, is a town in neighboring Ripley County approximately 40 miles west of Cincinnati. The community is nationally known as the hometown of the 1954 Milan High School basketball team that inspired the film “Hoosiers.”

Indiana State Police said toxicology testing is pending.

The investigation remains ongoing.
