IL Man Angus MacEachron ID’d As Rider In Saturday Rockford Fatal Motorcycle Crash

ROCKFORD, IL. (THECOUNT) — Angus James MacEachron, 25, of Rockford, Illinois, was killed Saturday evening following a motorcycle crash involving a pickup truck in Rockford, according to authorities.

The fatal collision occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. Saturday, May 16, near the intersection of Auburn Street and Harlem Boulevard in Rockford, located in northern Illinois near the Wisconsin state line.

According to the Rockford Police Department, officers responded to reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.

Investigators said the motorcycle operated by MacEachron collided with the pickup truck in the intersection area.

Authorities stated the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene following the collision.

MacEachron sustained severe injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment.

Officials later confirmed he was pronounced dead at approximately 6:50 p.m.

The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office said preliminary autopsy findings determined MacEachron died from traumatic injuries sustained in the collision.

The crash prompted a large emergency response Saturday evening as police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and crash investigators responded to the scene.

Traffic in the area of Auburn Street and Harlem Boulevard was impacted while investigators documented evidence and crews worked to clear the roadway.

Authorities have not publicly released details regarding what led to the collision.

Investigators also have not announced whether speed, impairment, weather conditions, or roadway factors contributed to the crash.

No charges have been announced in connection with the fatal collision.

The Rockford Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Fatal motorcycle crashes remain a significant focus for transportation safety officials throughout Illinois and across the United States due to the increased vulnerability of riders during roadway collisions.
