TURTLECREEK TOWNSHIP, OH. (THECOUNT) — Dylan Sougstad has died following a head-on crash on State Route 741 in Turtlecreek Township, Warren County, Ohio, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Saturday. He was 17 years old.
Sougstad, of Cincinnati, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second driver, Chastity Smith, of Trenton, Ohio, also died at the scene following the collision. She was 53 years old.
The Lebanon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the crash on State Route 741 near milepost 6 at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13. According to troopers, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2019 Tesla Model 3, operated by Sougstad, was traveling southbound on SR 741 when it crossed left of center and struck a northbound 2020 GMC Terrain operated by Smith. Following the impact, the Tesla traveled off the west side of the roadway and the GMC also traveled off the west side of the roadway. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene by responding troopers.
State Route 741 between Hamilton Road and State Route 63 was closed for several hours following the crash to allow for cleanup and removal operations. The road has since been reopened to traffic.
The crash remains under active investigation by the Lebanon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The city sits on the northern bank of the Ohio River along the Ohio-Kentucky border. Trenton, Ohio, the residence of victim Chastity Smith, is a small city in Butler County located approximately 15 miles west of Lebanon and roughly 30 miles north of Cincinnati. Butler County borders Warren County to the northwest.
State Route 741 is a north-south state highway that runs through central Warren County, passing through Turtlecreek Township and connecting communities including Lebanon, Mason, and Kings Mills. The road is a commonly traveled corridor in the region and sees regular commuter and commercial traffic.
