JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Phillip Maurice Blakney Jr., of Birmingham, Alabama, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday now fatal motorcycle crash in Jefferson County.
Blakney, 40, died Monday following a two-vehicle motorcycle crash in Birmingham Sunday afternoon.
According to reports, Blakney was operating a motorcycle on 1st Avenue North near 59th Street North in Birmingham, when the bike came into contact with a passenger vehicle on Sunday.
Blakney was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries late Monday afternoon.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
