WINNEBAGO COUNTY, IL. (THECOUNT) — Jonathon Sams, of Rockford, Illinois, has been identified as the victim in a Tuesday morning fatal vehicle crash in Winnebago County.
John Sams, 41, was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-tractor Tuesday morning.
According to reports, Sams was operating a Jeep on Samuelson Road near Falcon Road in Rockford, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle came into rear-end contact with a tractor-trailer around 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Sams was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
