MADISON COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Gary Stone, of Alexandria, Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a Tuesday fatal police pursuit motorcycle crash in Madison County.
Stone, 62, died Tuesday evening following a chase involving the Alexandria Police Department that also entered Grant County.
According to reports, police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, when the rider failed to stop. A police pursuit ensued. At some point during the chase, the motorcycle exited the roadway and wrecked near Madison Township.
Stone, who was ejected from the bike during the wreck, was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
