FRANKLIN COUNTY, PA. (THECOUNT) — Maura Boyce, of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, and Richard E. Cowan, 69, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, have been identified as the victims in a Monday double-fatal vehicle crash in Franklin County.
Boyce, 42, and 69-year-old Cowan, were both killed in a Monday afternoon head-on crash in Saint Thomas Township.
According to reports, Cowan was operating a vehicle on Route 30 near Campbells Run Road in Saint Thomas, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 2 p.m. Monday. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a vehicle operated by Boyce.
Boyce and Cowan both died of injuries suffered in the wreck.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
