CARROLL COUNTY, IA. (THECOUNT) — James Arthur Stovall, of Mobile, Alabama, has been identified as the victim in a Wednesday morning fatal vehicle crash in Carroll County, Iowa.
Stovall, 29, was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-tractor Wednesday morning near Dedham, Iowa.
According to reports, Stoval was operating a Chevrolet Tahoe on Highway 141 between Coon Rapids and Dedham, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 5:50 a.m. Wednesday.The vehicle then came into contact with a 2023 International LT625 semi-tractor trailer, operated by 34-year-old Derek Pittenger of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama.
Pittenger was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
Stovall was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
