MILLER COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — George Cook, of Eldon, Missouri, has been identified as the pedestrian in a Wednesday night fatal vehicle strike in Miller County.
Cook, 20, was killed after he was struck by a vehicle near Eldon Wednesday night.
According to reports, Cook was on-foot in the roadway on US-54 near Eldon Wednesday night around 7 p.m., when he struck by a passing vehicle.
The vehicle then exited the roadway before coming into contact with a road sign.
Cook was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The driver, who remained on-scene, was uninjured in the collision.
No one was cited at the scene.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
