RANKIN COUNTY, MS. (THECOUNT) — Jessica ‘Bubbles’ Redfern, of Pelahatchie, Mississippi, has been identified as the Richland Walmart worker taken hostage at gunpoint by an unidentified female suspect who was later shot dead by police.
Redfern, 32, was held at gunpoint inside a Walmart store located on Marketplace Drive in Richland Wednesday night. The suspect demanded to talk to a news outlet.
The armed woman held Redfern hostage inside the Richland store while demanding to talk to a news outlet on Wednesday night.
Video taken from inside the store during the incident shows the female suspect holding a gun in one hand and holding Redfern with the other.
Police responded to a report of a hostage situation and an officer ended up shooting and killing the suspect.
No one else was injured during the incident.
Police say they were told the suspect walked into the store with a gun and demanded news crews show up.
