WA Man Corey Wren ID’d As Victim In Thursday Spokane Valley Fatal Harley Crash

SPOKANE VALLEY, WA. (THECOUNT)Corey S. Wren, 50, of Spokane Valley, Washington, was killed Thursday after a Harley-Davidson motorcycle crash involving a pickup truck on State Route 290 (East Trent Avenue) in Spokane Valley, according to the Washington State Patrol. The driver of the GMC Sierra involved in the collision was transported to a local hospital for a medical emergency, and potential charges remain under investigation.

Spokane Valley is located in Spokane County in eastern Washington, near the Idaho border and east of the city of Spokane. State Route 290 serves as an important roadway connecting communities throughout the Spokane metropolitan area.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 4:35 p.m. Thursday on East Trent Avenue near North Evergreen Road. Investigators said a GMC Sierra pickup was traveling eastbound when it briefly left the roadway from the right shoulder.

The pickup then returned to the eastbound lanes and struck a Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling in the same direction, according to investigators. The impact caused both vehicles to cross into the westbound lanes before striking the westbound shoulder.

Wren, who was operating the motorcycle, was ejected during the collision and landed on the westbound shoulder. Authorities said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the GMC Sierra, identified by authorities only as a 23-year-old man from Spokane, was taken to a local hospital due to what officials described as a medical emergency.

The Washington State Patrol said the cause of the crash remains under investigation. Investigators are reviewing the circumstances leading up to the collision, and officials said potential charges are pending.

Authorities determined that neither drugs nor alcohol were contributing factors in the crash, according to the updated report.

Following the collision, East Trent Avenue was closed between North Pines Road and North Evergreen Road while emergency crews responded and investigators processed the scene.

The Washington State Patrol said multiple troopers responded to the crash and traffic was diverted at nearby intersections while the investigation was underway.

No additional details about the investigation or any possible citations or charges have been released.
