SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Yosef Cohen, of Santa Cruz, California, has been identified as the pedestrian in a Thursday morning fatal vehicle collision in Santa Cruz County.
Cohen, 28, was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in Aptos Thursday morning.
According to reports, Cohen was observed by witnesses running between traffic on Highway 1 near Freedom Boulevard in Aptos, when he was struck by a passing Honda CRV operated by a 66-year-old Aptos woman.
Cohen was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries suffered in the collision.
The Honda driver, who was not injured, was not cited at the scene and no charges are pending.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
