WAYNE COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Ashley Barrett, of Cambridge City, Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday night fatal vehicle crash involving a child in Wayne County.
Barrett, 29, was killed, and a child was injured, in a Thursday night single-vehicle crash in Cambridge City.
According to reports, Barrett was operating a GMC Jimmy on the 2200 block on Boyd Road in Cambridge City, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the roadway and came into contact with a tree.
Barrett was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
Barrett 5-year-old son crawled out from the wreckage with only minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
