AL Man Jason Cole Arrested In Death Of Rachael Mixson Repeat Offender ‘Rape During Armed Robbery’ ‘Assault’

RUSSELL COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Jason Bernard Cole, of Florence, Alabama, the man arrested in the death of The Juicy Crab bartender, Rachael Marie Mixson, has several prior offences, including raping a woman during an armed robbery and another arrest for ‘putting a woman’s head through a wall.”

The body of 41-year-old Mixson was discovered on Oct. 22, 2022, on the side of a Phenix City roadway in the area of Cutrate Road, between Opelika Road and Copeland Drive.

Cole, 40, was arrested on Oct. 24, 2022.

According to reports, Cole was arrested in the 2014 rape of a woman during an armed robbery in Florence. In 2016, he was arrested for assaulting a woman during an argument. In that case he was accused of putting the woman’s head through a wall.

A woman on Facebook, Susan Carter, claims to have known Cole:

“When my mom first met him I knew something was wrong with him she moved them in he’s on methamphetamines everything I knew something was up with him because while he was with my mom he was trying to get with me who does that I could have been that woman my mom could have been that woman.”

Mixson’s cause of death has not yet been revealed. Her body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences to undergo an autopsy.

This case remains under investigation.
