ALLEN COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Joseph B Schwarz Jr., of Fairfield, Ohio, has been identified as the victim in a multi-vehicle crash in Allen County Sunday afternoon.
“Joe” Schwarz, 64, was killed, and at least 20 more injured in a Sunday afternoon nine-vehicle chain-reaction crash in Lima.
According to reports, the massive crash occurred after a freightliner semi truck came into rear-end contact with slow moving traffic on Interstate 75 southbound near Mile Marker 125 around 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
Schwarz, a Fairfield developer, was killed in the crash. He was a passenger in an involve Suburban.
21 others were injured in the crash. Troopers said 10 people were taken to area hospitals and 11 others were treated at the scene. Their conditions were unknown.
