Wife And Known Felon Charged In Murder Of Indiana Firefighter Robert Doerr

EVANSVILLE, IN. (THECOUNT) – Elizabeth Joanne Fox and Larry Richmond, Sr., have been identified as the two people officially charged with murder in the 2019 death of Evansville Firefighter Robert Doerr.

Liz Fox, 47, who was booked into jail in March of 2019 on an obstruction of justice charge, was charged in Doerr’s murder along with Richmond, who was already in prison on federal gun charges.

Doerr was shot and killed outside his Oakley Street home.

Police have called Richmond a person of interest in the case since February 2020.

Fox allegedly deleted a phone call to Richmond the night of the shooting.

Richmond was sentenced to 60 months in federal prison in November 2020 after pleading guilty to two counts of a felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

He was arrested back in March 2019 after police say they found three guns buried in a backyard.

Richmond served 22 years in prison for murder, and had just been released in 2018.

Evansville police say they will be releasing more details in the arrests at a 1 p.m. presser.
