CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, NY. (THECOUNT) — Author Salman Rushdie was attacked and stabbed at a literary event in Chautauqua County, New York Friday.
Reports say, an assailant rushed the stage soon after Rushdie’s introduction and attacked him.
The man proceeded to punch or stab Rushdie, who was scheduled to talk at the Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua, N.Y., some 75 miles south of Buffalo.
