MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Alberta Lavetta Cons, of Phoenix, Arizona, has been identified as the victim in a Wednesday fatal pedestrian-versus-vehicle strike in Maricopa County.
Cons, 30, was killed after she was struck by a vehicle in Phoenix Wednesday morning.
According to reports, Cons was on-foot near her disabled vehicle in the area of North 51st Avenue and West Encanto Boulevard in Phoenix, when a male pickup driver, who had come into contact with another slow-moving pickup truck, then swerved and struck Cons around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Both involved vehicles remained at the scene and cooperated with arriving officers.
Neither driver was injured and no one was cited at the scene.
Cons died at the scene of injuries suffered in the collision.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
