HI Teen Zion Hao-Kallio ID’d As Victim In Monday Night Pepeekeo Fatal Vehicle Crash

HAWAII COUNTY, HI. (THECOUNT) — Zion Hao-Kallio, of Ocean View, Hawaii, has been identified as the victim in a Monday night fatal multi-vehicle crash in Hawaii County.

Hao-Kallio, 15, was killed in a Monday night three-vehicle crash in Pepeekeo that injured three others.

According to reports, Tyson Acacio, 20, of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, was operating a Honda Civic on Highway 19/ Mamalahoa Hwy near Mile Marker 12 in Pepeekeo, when the vehicle lost control and came into contact with a Chevy pickup around 6 p.m. Monday.

A Toyota Solara became involved when it was struck by debris from the wreck.

Hao-Kallio, a passenger in the Honda, died of injuries suffered in the crash.

Acacio suffered serious internal injuries and was transported to an area hospital. A teen girl, who was also a passenger in the Honda, suffered only minor injuries in the crash.

A 40-year-old female operating the pickup suffered a broken right heel and additional minor injuries.

The involved Toyota driver was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation and is being categorized has negligent homicide.
