HINDS COUNTY, MS. (THECOUNT) — Brandon, Mississippi, Brandon High School Bulldog football player, Phillip Laster Jr., has been identified as the student who died suddenly on Monday in Hinds County.
According to the Rankin County coroner David Ruth, Laster, 17, died on Monday adding there were no injuries detected on the teen.
Ruth said he is transporting Laster’s body to the State Medical Examiner’s Office to rule on an official cause of death.
The school district is expected to release a statement with more information.
