DELAWARE COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Samuel L. Gillum of Eaton, Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday night fatal shooting outside a Walmart Superstore in Delaware County.
“Sam” Gillum, 34, was shot dead outside a Muncie Walmart on Saturday Night. 32-year-old Tyler C. Abrams, of Muncie, was arrested.
According to reports, police responded to calls of shots fired at the Walmart Superstore at 4801 West Clara Lane in Muncie around 8:30 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, Gillum was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
Abrams was later taken into custody in the area of the 2000 block of North Nebo around 9 p.m.
Abrams was preliminarily charged with murder, criminal recklessness and obstruction of justice. He was expected to be held without bond in the Delaware County jail.
