ST. FRANCIS COUNTY, AR. (THECOUNT) — Scottsville, Kentucky teen, John Edward Bomar, has been identified as the victim killed following a police pursuit in St. Francis, Arkansas on Sunday.
Bomar, 19, was killed after a high-speed police chase in Forrest City Sunday evening.
According to reports, deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle on Interstate 40 near Highway 1 in Forrest City, when the vehicle refused to stop around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
At some point during the pursuit, police conducted a PIT maneuver on the fleeing vehicle causing it to exit the roadway and crash near the St. Francis County And Cross County line.
Bomar was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounce dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
Arkansas State Police says they are conducting an internal investigation into the young man’s death.
