MACON COUNTY, TN. (THECOUNT) — Kimberly Denney, of Lebanon, Tennessee, has been identified as the victim in a Tuesday night fatal vehicle crash in Macon County.
“Kim” Denney, 54, was killed and four other individuals injured, in a single-vehicle crash near Lafayette Tuesday night.
According to reports, 27-year-old Bethany Lankford was operating an Infiniti sedan on Hartsville Road in Lafayette, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. The vehicle then traveled down an embankment and rolled over multiple times.
Two small children, ages 3 and 9, were airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center with serious injuries.
Lankford was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Denney was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
