HARTFORD COUNTY, CT. (THECOUNT) — Jayla Heaven, of Hartford, Connecticut, has been identified as the victim in a Monday fatal double-shooting in Hartford County.
“Jay” Heaven, 22, was killed in a double-shooting at a house party in Hartford early Monday morning.
According to reports, police responded to a call of shots fired at a large gathering on Shultas Place in Hartford. When they arrived, two individuals were found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds around 2 a.m. Monday.
Heaven was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
The second victim, a man in his twenties, was transported by private vehicle to an area hospital. He suffered what are believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
