WORCESTER COUNTY, MA. (THECOUNT) — Robert and Diane Witt, the parents of musician, author and “Nashville” actor, Alicia Witt, were found dead inside their Worcester County home on Monday.
Robert, 87, and 75-year-old Diane, were both found dead in their Worcester home after their daughter requested a cousin to perform a welfare check Monday.
Witt said she had not heard from her parents for several days, so she asked the cousin to check on them in their home, located at 8 Sussex Ln in Worcester.
“Sadly, the outcome was unimaginable,” she said in a statement. “I ask for some privacy at this time to grieve and to wrap my head around this turn of events and this surreal loss.”
Worcester police spokesman Lt. Sean Murtha said on Tuesday: “I can confirm that police were dispatched to the residence and discovered a male and a female deceased. There were no signs of foul play. It is under investigation,” according to BostonHerald.
Alicia Witt started her career as a young actress on the original “Dune” movie, which has since been remade. She is also an accomplished singer/songwriter and classically trained pianist and has opened for Ben Folds Five, Jimmy Webb and John Fullbright, according to her IMDb bio.
She’s appeared on TV, on Broadway and in many films where her skills as a pianist have been incorporated into her roles.
A cause of death was not provided.
