LOGAN COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Robert Eugene Long, of Oakley, Kansas, has been identified as the victim in a fatal vehicle crash Sunday night in Logan County.

Long, 53, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Oakley Sunday night.

According to reports, Long was operating a Ford F-150 pickup truck on Highway 83 near Oakley, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway. The vehicle then traveled back onto the roadway and into opposing lanes around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a Ford F-250 pickup truck.

A 20-year-old Colorado man operating the F-250 was hospitalized with possible serious injuries.

Long was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
