GASTON COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Maurice Lenelle Davis, of Gastonia, North Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a Monday morning vehicle crash in Gaston County.
Davis, 48, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Gastonia Monday morning.
According to reports, Davis was operating a Nissan Sentra near his home on Laurel Lane at Robinwood Road, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 7:30 a.m. Monday. The vehicle then made contact with a substantial tree.
Davis was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
